mydeco.com are thrilled to welcome Design Shuffle to our blogging team! Every month they’ll be giving us their top tips, latest favorites, and design trends they just can’t keep to themselves. This week they’re giving you an insight into the new homeware collection by Diane von Furstenberg, but first, here’s a little intro: My name’s Joanna Crain and I’m a writer for Design Shuffle. I’ve been writing about interior design and home décor topics for ten years, have over 15 years of experience in the interior design industry and was trained in interior design at the Art Institute of Houston. Enjoy!

Style legend Diane von Furstenberg launched her premier home collection in February exclusively at Bloomingdale’s. It is amazing and encompasses everything we’ve come to expect from DVF. Bold colors, strong patterns, interesting mixes and unexpected pairings that we love in her famous wrap dresses translated for the home—talk about truly inspired interior design ideas! Described as ‘inspired by nature, contemporary art and the fashion legend’s own iconic prints,’ this collection is very chic. Great accessories like trays and throws mean you can buy one or two small pieces to add to your existing décor. The tableware and table top collections allow effortless mixing and matching.

The Bright and Bold collection lives up to its name. We love the ikat inspired pattern and bold primary color palette.

Urban jungle is a contemporary take on “Out of Africa.” No boring safari khaki in this collection.

The Garden Path features softer colors and more nature inspired patterns.

Named Animal Garden, this is a sexy blend of animal and floral print in a fresh palette of blues, purples and greens.

The Floral Batik collection is like a trip to Bali. We like the softer hues and natural patterns. We are so inspired with decorating ideas we want one of these duvets and throws made from DVF’s most iconic vintage fabrics for every day of the week.

Tableware and table top pieces in geometric silhouettes, modern shapes mix and match. These pieces would work well with existing all-white plates or clear glassware too.

Many pieces are inspired by DVF’s travels and own collections. We love the gold crocodile embossed tray.

Which pieces are your DVF favorites? Did you or do you own one of Diane’s iconic wrap dresses?

I’m a big fan of Diane Von Fustenberg’s work. I love the colors, patterns and textures of this home collection, I think that identifies with a brand that I met recently called KOKET. KOKET furniture is unique and glamorous and is highly influenced by the decorative arts, fashion, textures, colors and the decorative techniques of times but in a glamorous contemporary version!
