The summer holiday home of muched loved children’s writer Beatrix Potter has been put on the property market. The three bedroomed cottage in Scotland was a summer retreat for the author and is said to be where she established her love for nature. The house has a beautiful 1¼ mile fishing beat along both banks of the river that flows next to the cottage and the Potter family used to fish a lot there. It may even have inspired the characters she is famous for, such as Mr Jermey Fisher and Jemima Puddleduck. The cottage and land is on the market for £760,000, but with an annual catch of 100 salmon available from the river think of all the money you’d save at the fish counter!
