To commemorate the London Design Festival, our UK office ran a competition very much in the spirit of the Festival itself– the Design Democracy Blog Awards. Nominated and voted for by the mydeco community, three bloggers representing different categories were given the opportunity to officially cover the London Design Festival.
The winners include James Davidson of WeHeart, representing the best independent blog, Melissa French and Jenny Leary of Puff & Flock, representing the best commercial blog, and Arianna Trapani of Arianna Interiors, representing the best newcomer. Each blogger has been recounting their favorite finds. Mine includes this amazing stair installation by Stuart Haygarth at the V&A, reported by Arianna Trapani:

And I am totally enamored of this gothic pop-up restaurant/exhibition, Hel Yes!. Created by a team of Finnish “designers and food luminaries”, this space makes me imagine what a modern interpretation of a Viking hall would be like. WeHeart gives us some lovely images:
Thank you, Design Democracy bloggers, for sharing your impressions of a Festival us America-based design lovers are sadly missing out on. Check out all the fabulous London Design Festival coverage here.
Our ears on the ground in the USA. We have a team of writers who scour the United States for the best design events, designs, products and images to show how much of a hotbed for design the USA is. Read more posts by USA Correspondent.
