Today I made a trip to Ludlow in Shropshire to visit one of our imminent partners ‘Holloways of Ludlow’, and to hand pick the mydeco selection of lighting with them.

Ludlow is a beautiful market town, with some very interesting boutiques and shops, and a real hub of creativity.

Aside from the wonderful Holloways of Ludlow, there is its next door neighbour ‘Period House Shop’, for all your period fixtures and fittings, unusual salvage and workwear.

The Black Bough is also a must see. Voted ‘Vogue’s top 100 boutiques outside of London, it carries the most beautiful and well sourced gifts for the home, including the stoneware of Sussex based Brickett Davda, and artwork from Mark Herald.

My final destination was the gallery/shop ‘Material’. This was a beautifully curated shop specialising in books, typography, prints, artwork, and had a very strong selection of children’s graphic art books, and stationery.

I found it very difficult to resist a purchase at these boutiques, as I found the offers inspirational, and a breath of fresh air. I can’t recommend Ludlow highly enough for a giant dose of inspiration!

Couldn’t agree more and our holiday cottage No 1, Mortimer Court in Ludlow makes the perfect base for visiting all of Ludlow’s luscious shops!

I love the stone ware . Are the colourful pots by Brickett Davda? they are beautiful. Great to see a smaller town featured.
