This week’s post focuses on bringing a traditional feel to your home for Christmas. We’re looking at the Dickensian theme, a throwback to the old English style from years ago. Bring the Christmas Carol spirit into your home for a really cosy family  Christmas.

Think opulent colours such as red, navy, gold and green, with lashings of white.

Don’t be afraid to use lashings of glass and gold for an extra-luxe touch. There are some lovely modern gold sprays that blend well with the Dickensian look. I love this one, it’s stylish and sparkly without being over the top.

Twinkly lights are an ideal finishing touch for the look, making your room feel cosy and festive. You can also use old-fashioned and exposed lightbulbs to really make it vintage. And don’t be afraid to get creative!

So bring the family together for an old-fashioned, cosy traditional Christmas with a Dickensian twist. For a few of my favourite Dickensian pieces, take a look at this week’s wishlist.
