Glastonbury is just a few days away now and we’re watching the weather forecast like hawks – the sun is shining today but the predictions are varied with storms and freak monsoons which carnage among the campers. Fingers and toes are crossed that it’s more like this sunny shot of a Laura Ashley fabric tent than the mudbath of 2007.

Especially nervous are the new set of ‘glampers’ – that’s glamorous campers to you and I. ‘Glamping’ is the  buzzword of the week; ‘glampers’ are the kind of people who pack hair tongs, inflatable mattresses, Cath Kidston tents and designer water bottles. And they’re everywhere. As the pound remains weak, carbon footprint a concern and the sun still shines in Blighty, there’s been a rise in ‘glampers’ pitching tents across the country.
