It’s Father’s Day this coming Sunday and so I thought I would share with you a few of my favourite gifts from across the web. If you’re anything like me, you’ll struggle each year to find something original, fun, useful and stylish for your dad or granddad so have a browse of my recommendations and hopefully you’ll be inspired.
I love these mirrors made from vintage tennis rackets – they appeak to my eco-conscious side; I love to see great upcycled design! The boutique behind these great mirrors is Velvet Ribbon – “Purveyors of old, new and beautiful homeware and accessories, for lovers of individual and nostalgic style.”
Rockett St George have a great selection of vintage style gifts for Father’s day including the above quirky limited edition ink posters. The first features classic lines from retro films and the second is a collection of well known catchphrases of comedians from the 70s, 80s and 90s. They are sure to bring a smile.
Horny Beasts brings us fabulous authentic vintage roe deer antlers mounted on multi-coloured wooden shields. They are a must have contemporary accessory for the home and would make a great gift for the man not afraid to make a statement with his decor. A must have contemporary accessory for any home. All antlers are collected from deer that are culled for environmental reasons.
Looking for a personalised gift? Choose any word or title and Bombus will use their vintage dictionary collection to create one of these unique gifts especially for you. The choices are endless, if you can think of an appropriate word, they’ll reseach the meaning and transform it into a bespoke artwork.
This vintage bottle lamp would make an elegant gift this father’s day. Delivered by Rockett St George, the lamps are created by silvering old glass bottles to a beautiful effect.
Is your dad a music buff? These coasters made from old vinyl records caught my eye as an unusual gift for music lovers. WhenTheMusicsOver has a great line of home accessories handmade from recylced vinyl records – letter racks, clocks, bookends and more.
Although these products would make great father’s day gifts, they’re pretty versatile and would suit a whole range of people. I’m definitely eyeing up those upcycled tennis racket mirrors for myself!
