Monochromatic schemes seem to be proving very popular this season within both interiors and fashion. Many celebrities wore stylishly creative pieces at this year’s Golden Globes and graphic inspired prints were a main inspiration for many designers. Many stylish people are currently sporting this look. This is because it is highly versatile and black and white works with everyone. Stripes in particular, were seen at the Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2013 fashion show and designers such as Diane Von Furstenberg embraced this trend also.

Monochrome schemes can vary greatly and can be applied to any room. They look fabulously elegant in a living room and equally exotic or simplistic in a bathroom. The beauty about working with a monochrome scheme is that you can be flexible depending on your personal style. This also applies to fashion as this trend can be worn casually or smartly during the day or at night.
