I have been to a few music festivals this year and doing so has gotten me in the mood to write about gypsy-themed interiors.

Gypsy decor is for the boho and young at heart. It includes a multitude of bright colours, beautiful patterns and lots of elements coming together to create a unique look. It borrows the boldest and most dazzling styles from around the world. Think layers, layers and more layers of unique vintage and ethnic pieces mixed with different patterns, colour and textiles.

Mixing fabrics and colours can be quite daunting. Jamie Meares, blogger and owner of Furbish says ‘I always suggest to customers to try mixing with pillows first. It’s an easy-on-the-pocketbook investment, and an opportunity to try out bold colors, crazy patterns and current trends without over-committing. On a larger scale, an easy scheme for an entire room includes a stripe, a floral, a large scale organic print, and a small scale geometric print. It’s hard to go wrong with those.’

To see what this look would bring to your home, have a go with the mydeco 3D planner – this Gypsy Vardo 3D room was created by Mydecorati’s own jenshadow_222.

This beautiful gypsy caravan inspired 3D room creates a sense of serenity and comfort whilst patterns and colour are mixed together. jenshadow_222 says ‘I was inspired by a trip I had taken to the Ripley’s Museum where they had an authentic Gypsy carriage. It was gorgeous!’

Go ahead and try it for yourself!
