Twice a year, the Gift Show descends on the behemoth centers of Manhattan: the Javits, Pier 92, and Pier 94. Now, that’s a lot of gifts. The prospect of the show can strike preemptive exhaustion in the hearts (and legs) of all who have walked it– myself included– but you always know that the many hours you log on your pedometer will yield something new and exciting amidst the mountain of kitsch.

This show was no different; for those of you who chose to save your feet from unsightly sores, here is a short list of my particular favorites:

1) Lovell Designs

Fabric covered bins, bags, totes, and pillows. Impetus for home organization? I think so.

2) Bailey Doesn’t Bark

Graphic ceramic patterns of bees and honeycombs, spiders and webs. Pillows, paper goods, and even jewelry. Simple, adorable, unique.

3) O & G Studio

I noticed them at  the last ICFF; these modern reinterpretations of classic American furniture, often in brilliant finishes and colors, are just cool.

4) LBK Studio

Gorgeous, gorgeous glass, like these lux bowls.

5) Oomph

These diminutive tables in customizable tops (my favorite was covered in Quadrille fabric, above) just make me happy.

6) Brahms Mount

Beautifully made blankets in classic patterns like herringbone. Imaginative use of pattern scale– and I love the tassels. Plus, they’re from Maine.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg.
