Their Something Blue temporary boutique offered style-hungry shoppers a chance to buy bespoke and handcrafted British-made pieces themed around this summer’s most versatile colour, blue.
mydeco’s Lorna Syson showcased her range of beautiful 3D floral wall art installations and elegant cushions, including a limited edition ‘Kate’ cushion – in honour of the Duchess of Cambridge – which is made from British nettles and wool sourced from Leicestershire. These very sustainable materials produce super-soft tactile cushions with Lorna’s trademark ruffle.
Decorating the walls of the small boutique shop were Ellen Calvert’s framed vintage handkerchiefs. Each design is hand-embroidered with a kitsch message and are individual, one of a kind pieces.
After several cups of tea and half a dozen bow-trimmed cupcakes (which were delicious!), mydeco TV put down their dregs and got the camera rolling to find out about the inspiration behind the two textile designers’ new collections. Watch the video, above, to see what they said and take a tour of the shop.
