Marble in the home was originally most often found in bathrooms and kitchens. Marble is a classic European stone which is highly popular, especially in Mediterranean homes. The natural marbled pattern in this stone is mesmerizing. Marble, whether used as flooring or as a kitchen worktop, provides a clean and timeless finish. It is a classic material, reminiscent of the grand and stylish interiors of ancient Rome.

Marbling is a popular trend this Summer both in fashion and home accessories. Fashion designer Stella McCartney has a vibrant collection this season. Rich silks with swirls of colour make this a fabulous Summer trend. The marbling prints seen on the Spring and Summer catwalks are beautifully playful and they incorporate many bright and deep colours. Great to wear this season!

These bright and colourful whirls can also be incorporated into the home through various accessories from textiles to kitchen utensils. When using marbled accessories with bold colours it is best to use them sparingly. A room can easily look over-dressed or unbalanced if too much marbling is used. A great way to start could be to incorporate a chair upholstered in marbled fabric as a focal point in a living room.

Cushions can also look great. Try to match colours to wall art so that a balance and some sophistication can be achieved. When it comes to fashion the marble trend looks great from head to toe. It’s wonderful summer print!
