The arrival of February and a sudden drop in temperature gives us the perfect excuse to spend some quality time snuggled up indoors in front of a roaring fire. And with Valentine’s Day fast approaching, what better excuse is there to treat your home to some love?
To inject some warmth into these snow-filled days ahead of February 14, I’m loving the vibrant neon trend which has already emerged as a hit for this year.

3D room designed by juhaszrena
For Valentine’s Day go for pink but with a neon punch. mydeco.com community member juhaszrena is getting prepared with this Black & Pink 6 3D living room design, which is perfect for setting the scene with a romantic yet edgy style.
Experimenting with neon doesn’t mean you’ll need to wear sunglasses – there are some great ways to add a subtle pop of colour without going over the top. Small accessories for the dining table are a great place to start:

Alternatively, if bright colour isn’t for you, adding white to a room can create a warm living room too, especially when combined with wooden flooring:

Creative community member TManha designed this realistic nyc 3D living-dining room back in January. The design is very clean, spacious and modern, with wooden flooring and textured rugs and striped cushions adding tactility and warmth.
If you’re looking for something subtle and want to create that crisp, light and airy feel, try a few well placed white accessories. This is a great way to bring spring/summer 2012 trends into your home without clashing with the colours you already feature. White accessories with tactile textures are still really popular this year, and here are a few ideas to get you started:

So whether you prefer bright, bold types or something quiet and calming, these trends are easy to incorporate and will suit almost any room – the perfect way to pamper your home this Valentine’s Day.
Try before you buy like our community members have done by designing a 3D room with your Valentine’s Day decorative ideas. It’s an easy – and free – way to experiment with different looks and find the one you love.
