The lovely Jamie Oliver launched his essential kitchen kit today and I went along to find out all about it and watch the man himself using his new gear.

There are some greats bits in the range like these salt and pepper mills with an integral pop-up funnel for easy re-filling (£19.57 each). With a graveyard of broken garlic crushers, Jamie has made his own all-in-one garlic slicer and crusher (£15.66), which you’ll be pleased to hear will last a lifetime of cooking.

But Jamie was most excited about his new kitchen knives (£117.45 also from Pots and Pans), which he described as a minimal set but all you need. He told mydeco: ‘If you have a good kit you’re immediately 15% better and that 15% could make or break your dinner party.’ I have to say, I’m rather excited about the finger guard in the new range. I can now attempt to slice, dice and chop as fast as Mr. Oliver without fear of losing all of my fingers!

I think the kit will be a huge hit. To persuade you even more, why not have a look at the rest of Jamie’s new range on the mydeco website?
