LDF special: mydeco Design Democracy Blog Awards – the winners

A few months ago, we ran a competition in conjunction with the London Design Festival to offer four talented bloggers  the opportunity to blog for mydeco about the festival.

Well, the nominations came flooding in and our panel of judges finally came to a decision last week. It is with great pleasure that we announce the winners:

Best Independent Blog: James Davidson of We Heart

Best Commercial Blog: Melissa French and Jenny Leary of Puff & Flock

Best Newcomer: Arianna Trapani of Arianna Interiors

And finally, Best British Interior Design Blog in Great Britain: Katie Treggiden of Confessions of a Design Geek. This award was judged by our very own panel comprising LDF’s Director, William Knight; interior designer and mydeco UK board member Kelly Hoppen; designer and mydeco US board member Brad Ford; Pia Munden, design director of mydeco.com and Nicole Vanderbilt, CEO of mydeco.com.

Kelly Hoppen said:
“This is a wonderful example of how blogging should be, the blogger is clearly passionate about her subject and her writing conveys this enthusiasm to the reader. A great mix of architecture, interiors and creative resources. All in all, a great read”

And Brad Ford said:
“I think it’s beautifully designed, consistent and thoughtful and has a very distinct point of view.”
