Last week saw the launch of the mydeco Independent Home Shop Awards 2012, a five-week search to find Europe’s best unique home shop. There are two prizes up for grabs. The first will be voted for by you and the shop with the most votes wins. The second prize is selected by a panel of judges comprised of six prolific European bloggers.

The two winning shops will be invited to join mydeco.com to sell their products through the mydeco website. mydeco.com will pick, at random, two people that voted for the winning shops and give them £500 each to spend on pieces from those shops.

Our wonderful panel of judges including Holly Becker from decor8, Romain from Fubiz, Micle from Freshome, Will from Bright Bazaar, James from WeHeart and Carole & Arianna from Heart Home magazine, we have some wonderful starting nominations.

The shops that caught my eye are Merci Merci in Paris, Rice in Denmark, Darkroom in London and The Shop at Number 57 in the UK which recently opened. I am sure that these will be popular choices for those looking for individual home shops.

So, now it is over to you to help us find the best independent home shop… and if your shop wins you could be in with a chance of spending £500 at that very shop! This is not an opportunity to overlook!
