Although it was bitterly cold outside as 2013 had its first sight of snow, Day two at Home London was a busy affair.

Asthetically brilliant, Home London is a trade show of the highest quality. On every corner there is a stand filled with terrific homeware products.

My top picks at the event included:

Waffle:

The cushions, beautifully woven by Ciara McGarrity, are a dream to touch and feel. With calm, subtle patterns the cushion designs engaged my eye and made me wish I could get myself a Waffle cushion. And what further excited me was the news that Waffle will soon be on mydeco.com! Make sure you keep a look out for that.

Ella Doran:

I was initially drawn to this stand by the array of place mats. Clever, interesting and fun, these mats were right up my street; there was a vinyl style that was particularly great. However it was the Geo Carved Rug, based on the GEO wallpaper that won the Grand Design Awards in 2010, which had a lasting impression on me. Look, feel- this rug had it all.

Green and Blue Bird Cages

Loved these! These cages were inspired by birds’ natural nests, many of which take a rounded shape. The cages really are wonderful pieces of product design, immaculately slipcasted in clay. If I had wings and a beak, I know exactly what birdcage I’d be hangin’ out in.

Green and Blue

As mentioned in yesterday’s post Michelle, our Creative and Commercial Director, was judging at the Home London Awards. The winners are:

Best Stand: HAM

Best New Product: Trophy

Best Newcomer: Waffle

Great news for the winners, they are all worthy winners and their stands all looked amazing. Well Done!

Looking forward to tomorrow!
