Tegan, one of our new Account Managers, lets us know what her first Home London event was like.
The snow stopped, the sun came out and our last day at the Home London 2013 came to an end. It was lovely representing all of our designers and boutiques with pride. Well done to HAM, Trophy and Waffle for your wins! As an avid admirer of all things interior, exteriors and all that’s in-between, I must say it has been an amazing three days. From myself and our team at mydeco.com (B20), we have really loved showing off our beautiful products that we sell from on site. A BIG thank you goes out to all of our designers and boutiques who contributed to our stand, and helped to promote products from some of our newer collections.
Now to some of my favourite stands from Home:
1. In her stand, Welovekaoru created a beautiful, gothic esque living-room setting; it really gave you a feel for her aesthetic. The black painted walls helped to show off the eccentric ceramics ranges featured. My favourite was the salt and pepper ceramic hooves – they’re so quirky!!
2. Louise Wilkinson had such a cute stand displayed with all of her lovely crockery! I’m utterly in love with her “Trees white cup & saucer”. I got a clear idea of Louise’s vision from her exhibition; her layout and product selection made me think of a country style kitchen. The illustrations used are all inspired by her childhood growing up in the Yorkshire countryside and her love of animals and the natural world.
3. Chase and Wonder, wow, what a beautiful stand! They created a little world of all of their own. The way in which all of cushions, stationary, wash bags and prints were displayed gave me a feeling of walking into a living space that someone was really using. The products all came across as being very quirky and comforting. Faye Pearce and David Aspinall have a very good eye for illustration- their “Cat cushion” is so sweet. Perrrfect addition for my bedroom!
I’ve really enjoyed my first Home London, I’ll definitely be coming back next year.
I work in Social Media at mydeco.com and graduated from Goldsmiths College, University of London. I have a keen eye for good design and love me some Swedish minimalist design. Read more posts by Theo.
