This year’s London Design Festival was as diverse and inspirational as ever. Packed full of innovative new designs and emerging talents, as well as established super brands showcasing their latest work, it was an event not to be missed. The mydeco team scoured the shows to bring you the latest trends and insights into who and what will be appearing in stores over the coming months. Design Junction, 100% Design, Top Drawer, Tent London & Super Brands London were some of the key shows we attended during the week. Here, we have collated some of our top picks:
Lighting was a key category this year, with Vitamin showcasing innovative glass based designs and Aditi presenting one of a kind, vintage style pendants. Desinature also caught our attention with their eco-conscious, geometric designs and David Irwin’s industrial lighting with a retro twist was another notable player.
Teixidors were presented alongside Zuzunaga and their high quality, woven textiles were much coveted by the mydeco team. Kristjana S. Williams caught our eye with her quirky and unusual prints, which appeared across a variety of mediums. Mashiko pottery from Japan had a fascinating heritage and their charming tableware would be a great addition to any home. Simon Hasan’s radically new technique, which allows leather to be used as a structural element, is sure to make waves in the design world following the debut of his first commercial collection.
For those of you who made it to some of the shows, we hope you enjoyed them as much as we did and would love to hear what your top picks were too!
