Whether you’re a budding interior design student, professional stylist or simply want to revamp your bedroom, mydeco’s folder tool will help you with the overwhelming task of collating inspiration. You can use our free design tools to collect images (like the image above), create moodboards, build 3D rooms and organise them all into folders so you have everything your project desires in one place.

They’re great tools but don’t just take our word for it; Mary-Ellen Paul, aka mydeco community member dbpinteriors, used our tools to help her with her university project and has collected all her inspiration, work and resulting project into a one-stop-shop folder:

Mary-Ellen is currently a student at the KLC School of Design and is studying an open learning diploma in interior design and decoration. She used the mydeco folder tool as part of a uni competition to design a dream office from concept to final result:

She said: ‘I didn’t have the time to complete a perspective design by hand in time to submit my work, however, with mydeco’s software it allowed me to produce a well-polished design from concept to completion in just a matter of days.

‘I began using the very easy-to-use software on the website to construct the space for my dream office using furniture, flooring, wallcoverings and light fittings.’ This is the contemporary 3D office she created for her uni project using our 3D room planning tools:

Using our image clipper she was able to gather inspiration from around the web and store it in her portfolio folder on mydeco along with her 3D office. Doing this gives a project an easy starting point for your design. She also used our moodboard tool to group products together for inspiration, matching their colour and style:

When asked if she would use mydeco again, Mary-Ellen said: ‘I will definitely use mydeco for my final projects to both showcase and visualise my ideas. I would highly recommend anyone who is doing a course at the moment or who is even thinking of redesigning a room in their home to have a go – it’s really easy.’

As a result of her fantastic design project, Mary-Ellen has been featured on one of her favourite interior design blogs, Arianna Interiors, as part of the Student Profiles series – a place where Arianna showcases students/graduates and gives them that ‘giant leap into the real world’.

You can see Mary-Ellen’s interior design project in her portfolio folder, and you can use it as inspiration to start one of your very own.

Using our moodboard tool you can place products from the high street together to match the colour and style. Mary-Ellen has done exactly this, placing together colour palettes that match and will suite her project.

When asked if she would use mydeco again, Mary-Ellen responded, ‘I will definitely use mydeco for my final projects to both showcase and visualise my ideas.
