Taupe, beige, cream, stone or putty, call it what you will, I love this colour palette! Trust me it is not boring to invest in this colour scheme, these tones are the ideal backdrop for bolder statements in design using furniture, fabrics and accessories.
Please do not mistake my desired neutral colour palette to be an easy option or a design cop out, slapping on a few coats of magnolia this is not! Use barely there whites and warm taupes, to create an effortless flow in your home.
On a big plus, neutrals will also keep your interior looking fresh and styled without appearing dated. You can then use splashes of colour to accent or highlight using amazing accessories, art or furniture. This will instantly transform and update your space, without a complete redecoration! Bliss.
If like me, you don’t want to inject colour in to a room and like a full spectrum of neutral loveliness, then this simple back drop is the the perfect setting for deeper, more luxurious tones and textures. Incorporate deep crushed velvet sofas in mushroom, heavy draped curtains in taupe with hints of black to give it a room a sharp stylish edge, along with elegant walnut and ash furniture.
In my opinion every room should have sparkling glass ware as standard, and finishing off any room with a shining crystal chandelier feels so fabulously extravagant and decadent. Don’t forget to include glass vases full of luscious fresh flowers, it just oozes sophistication and glamour.
Neutral styling is understated elegance at its best. What do you think?
