mydeco guest blogger, Christiana Coop, is the wallpaper guru for the lovely homewares company ferm LIVING, and runs her own business Hygge & West. This week Christiana launches a new wallpaper line and gives her two cents at a creative entrepreneurial conference in San Francisco.
Hope you have been enjoying the summer! I feel like mine has been flying past me. But in a good way, because we’ve been making lots of new things and I’ve been wallpapering up a storm.
We recently launched a new wallpaper collection at Hygge & West designed by Pattern People, and here are some examples of the fruits of my summer labor. The Red Forest Leaves pattern (above) is a favorite of mine.
We actually shot all the papers in my apartment to save on time and cost. Above is the Red Forest Leaves photograph in production.
This blue Underwater World design is the artists’ favorite – we at Hygge & West love it too!
It features designs from bespoke wallpaper brands Tres Tintas in Barcelona, Erica Wakerly in London, ferm LIVING in Copenhagen, and makelike in Portland. The black wallpaper on the home page is by Tres Tintas and is one of my firm favorites.
I liked the design so much that I used it to make this screen for my bedroom. You can make your own too if you just follow my simple How to make a Daks screen instructions.
On top of launching a new wallpaper line and website, I also spoke at Creative Conference West, here in San Francisco. The event aims to inspire creatives into becoming entrepreneurs and turn their passion into a career.
Trend website Pattern Pulp
I was delighted to meet designer Shayna Kulik of Pattern Pulp there and learn about what she does. She’s a great resource for pattern lovers and designers, so it is definitely worth checking out her work.
After all this hard work, I’m now enjoying the last of the summer days!
