As we approach mid-summer, fashion (like the British weather) is changing all the time. This week Theo, our Social Media intern, shows us his top 5 fashion blogs for July. He looks at an array of different trends, from denim to sport-chic.
1) Refinery29 – 6 Don’t-miss denim trends for Spring/Summer
Denim is a style that has real dips in its ‘trendiness’, however, this summer denim is hot. Refinery29 has created a nice slideshow, which shows some lovely denim designs in a range of different products. A must-read for denim lovers, and for those who want to wear the fabric not just as jeans.
2) Style Bubble – Emily Dillon
This post looks at London College of Fashion student Emily Dillon’s camouflage-inspired bags. If you’re wearing a rucksack it must stand out, and you wouldn’t go wrong with this visually striking red polka dot design. The unisex deception bags, whose shapes are cleverly distorted by print, would make a great (and brave) addition to any bag collection.
3) Breathe Design – What’s in my bag?
For any man, the contents of a woman’s handbag is on the list of the world’s great mysteries (it’s definitely above ‘why is the sky blue?’), so this post particularly resonated with me. Christine lets us know what’s inside her bag, and the many items she values. She shows us her essentials and gives some insight into why she cherishes them. An interesting read.
4) 5 inch and up – Still keeping it sporty
Sporty-chic is en vogue right now, but I must admit I haven’t seen too many people really pull off the look; this blogger is one of the few people who have. Wearing yellow Nike basketball shorts and Alexander Wang shoes, Sandra from ‘5 inch and up’ looks like a real star. With the Olympics around the corner this post is worth a look if you want any tips on ‘sports luxe’. I’m loving this trend at the minute, and I want to see more of it. So don’t disappoint me folks, let’s start dressing in sporty-chic!
5) Sally Jane Vintage – Bren Summer 2012
Here the focus is on the Bren Summer collection, where the styles are inspired by ‘progressive New York and laid back California.’ The look is very simple, yet incredibly stylish; the perfect summer look. A nice post.
I'm the Editor of the mydeco.com blog, writing about the interiors that inspire me most. I love bright colour against neutrals, and have a soft spot for themed rooms. Quirky accessories are my favourite and I love nothing more than finding something bold and beautiful to make a room really stand out! Read more posts by Laura.
