Take your cue from florist to the stars Kenneth Turner and create luscious festive displays plucked straight from your garden.

At Christmas my house… is decorated with pine, holly and all that the season has to offer. One of my favourite festive blooms is the hyacinth as it fills the house with a glorious scent. Hyacinths are spring cut flowers but when bought in bulbs and planted in a basket with twigs, they flower in time for Christmas.

To create a strong Christmas colour scheme… I love to work with white flowers complimented by different textures of foliage such as rosemary, soft grey eucalyptus and striking red dogwood. I bring in nuts and fruit to give a wonderful lusciousness.

On my mantle piece… I like to have a fresh blue pine garland draping either side of the fireplace, dressed with pine cones, lemons, cinnamon sticks and bright red shiny apples.

The perfect wreathis natural looking and never overdressed.

My table top… is decked with a selection of vases filled with helleborus and seasonal foliage like eucalyptus and blue pine. The shape of the table is very important to an arrangement, as is remembering all the extras that will be on it, like glasses and chargers. Take advantage of the glorious berries that are around such as cotoneaster and berried ivy.

To welcome guests… I create a bold floral display in the hall and ensure a fragrant kitchen with plenty of fresh herbs, pine, cloves, eucalyptus and the aroma of mulled wine!
