As a big fan of American East Coast style, I am very excited about this weeks’ Through The Keyhole. Because we are bringing you a peek into the home of none other than…the Kennedy clan.
Yep, that’s right, this bright and breezy Mount Kisco property is home to Mary Kennedy and her family and has been recently been given a design overhaul by GANT Home. A few years ago, flooding devastated this 1920s house but since then the house has been given a new lease of life; a number of brand new, modern techniques has made it a model for how to build a sustainable and healthy home.
This is a home that has its roots firmly in the relaxed lifestyle of the American East Coast. An active life is second nature to Mary and her children, Conor, Kyra, Finn and Aidan, and their house built for play and recreation.
Mixing tradition and future, the old and the new, was very important in their rebuilt home. Technically advanced lighting and material solutions blend in seamlessly with the classical architecture, where many of the original details have been preserved.
The new textiles have been chosen with great care to reinforce the general ambiance of the house: Stylish throws, cushions, towels and bed linen in soft tones with white accents give all the rooms an elegant, calm feel.
