Hi, and happy 2011! I just wanted to post about two of my favorite trends for the upcoming year. The first is glamour. This trend is continuing strong this year, so expect more sparkling golds and moody blacks.
The following showcases some of my favorite ways to add more glamour into the new year. Of course, I would be lying if I didn’t say that I think the best way to bring more sparkle into your life is with wallpaper. Ferm Living‘s Monroe wallpaper, above, is the perfect blend of gold and black to create quite the glamorous statement in any living space.
Some of the ways I’ve been working more glamour into my life lately are:
- A new wallpaper pattern from Hygge & West that we’ve been working on – can’t wait to show you more in February
- A gold Halston Heritage dress
- A gold sequined panel from Habitat in Barcelona – perfect for a window or to divide a room
- Hand-dyed vintage lace – makes for a great shower curtain!

Other decadent ideas I’ve been loving:
- Gold champagne flutes
- Black enamel trophy vases
- Gold silverware (goldware?)
- This juwel carafe

My other favorite trend is stripes (particularly of the black and white variety!). Let’s start with my go-to solution – wallpaper. Above is Ferm Living’s new Vertigo wallpaper. I just love the simple, yet dramatic way it can change a room.

Go big with stripes in tops, sweaters and velvet bedding! And for a more subtle approach, try a luxurious Missoni throw, a simple hand towel, a floor mat, an unexpected jewelry box or a funky teacup!
Thanks for letting me share a few of my favorite things with you. I hope your year is off to a great start – let me know what your interior plans for 2011 are by leaving a comment below.
