THE REAL FACES OF MYDECO

BO & JANGLES

CHRISTINE CAMERON WILLIAMS

Last modified 18th November 2008

Mydeco just became more real for Diane and I today.

At 7am the man with the van, man handled the  Bo & Jangles personalised screen desk and 'Le Chocolat' chair into the glass lift at Alfred Place, London. At the back of the lift the man held the desk frame in place, Diane supported the screen board with her back against the lift control panel and I clutched the chair. The concierge looked on in amazement as we all slowly realised no-one was in the important position of pressing the magic button to the second floor. The concierge came to the rescue. He wound his arm past Diane, hit the button, released his arm sharply and off we went skywards to meet the Mydeco team.

There is an infectious enthusiasm which is totally irresistable about the whole Mydeco team. The plans to improve, promote and support the e-commerce platform of Mydeco are extensive. And the reasoning behind the development of the Mydeco experience appears to be in part because the Mydeco team listen to more »

I'm new to this site and it is addictive!!  I can now understand why my teenage daughter spends so much time on bebo/msn etc. I really should be doing the weekend food shopping and preparing for visitors but they'll understand. They know my house is 'lived in' so hopefully won't worry  about the mess. I'll blame it on the teenagers!! Will write another blog when  I have more time.

Had a spring time email from Habitat today and am loving some of their new items and the colour palette used in the PR shots; slate grey, vanilla white, an earthy yellow-green and terracotta.

Geometry is a strong theme in their collection, sharp lines and symmetry, see the fabric above and also the great Macro light below.

I have fallen for this outside Boutique light, like a little jewel, rich and black, it'd look amazing against a white rendered wall, a group of 3, just perfect.

My last pick? This Sparkle table to brighten up any bedside.

Harmonising energy in your home

Dagmar's blog

Assessing every item in your home accorting to whether it is water, wood, fire, earth or metal will allow you to get a feel for which elements dominate your home. This is a key to assessing your home's energy harmony. If you want to create powerful feng shui in the energy of your living space, than understanding of cycles and attributes of the five elements is the first step.

The simplicity of this theory lies in the belief that literally everything in the Universe - from smells and tastes to colours, shapes, numbers, musical notes, directions, symbols, seasons, body parts and organs, and so on - belongs to one of the five elements.

Project Lennon; lintels going in

God bless the Nat West, who are financing the refurb of 5 grotty flats, it's a start in this credit crunch nightmare! A week in (6wks to finish) Project Lennon is now uninhabitable, back to brick, no quick tickle up with a coat of paint for these rentals. Yes, the rental market is brilliant says everyone, but there is a massive amount of competition; my agents had 30 rentals to shift pre-Xmas, they now have 140!!! So you have to be one step ahead of the competition.....

1 - view back from main living room to hallway; doorway being moved to the left so the door opens against the wall, this will give more room for a folddown bed on the right hand side as it is a studio flat. Concrete lintel in here.

2 - view from inside kitchen. Door moved to allow run of 600mm units more »

Are you happy with the current comp leaders...?

I just had a peek at the current competition winners on the competitions page, and boy there are some amazing designs!

There are also some high voting scores, so I am glad you are all starting to get more enthusiastic with the 'vote' button. But if you don't like who is winning, then don't just sit there, get voting on more of the rooms!

The stakes are high, for this competition you could win £500 to spend on mydeco, so if you don't like the winning moodboard then get voting on others.

Remember, when you click 'Like' on somebone's room or moodboard, this does not change their position in competitions, your vote only counts if you click on 'vote for this room'.

I love them all, if only there was a way for everyone to win...

Good luck everybody!

007 where r u

Back in the summer of 2008 we had a month or 2 here at mydeco when a thief appeared to be stealing people's rooms.  Most vanished and were never found again.  A few appeared unbidden and unwanted on other member's profiles.

Well it appears the room thief is back.  And this time has stolen THE ENTIRE 100 LIST OF TOP RATED 3-D ROOMS!!!!

I noticed they were missing over a week ago and was waiting for someone else to mention it, but alas no one has.  In their place is a sweet looking group of rooms mostly created by the staff of mydeco that have ratings of 5 or 6 votes.

What happened to the 100% liked rooms with votes of 15 to 50?  I know I still have several in my profile and now they no longer display.

Now all this was about rooms that you look at by going to the Rate My Room Tab and then down half a page to the 3-D tab. If you choose the option of Rooms and then go to most recommended you get an entirely different list with a more »
