I hope not, otherwise I'm due to inherit my mother's penchant for tweed.

My family has lived my whole life in quite modern houses, with quite modern fittings. I, however, love period houses, period features, foreign styles, elaborate designs, etc - anything except the plain, calm modern spaces my parents have loved.

    So i think not.

However, i do think that we learn from our parents how things are arranged, a sense of quality of furniture etc, so you'll never escape your earliest influences.

I think being creative is hereditary, but style is more personal, my family all seem to be creative in different ways, but our personal styles are very different, my Dad who works in the building industry can look at a plan of a building and know that it will work or not, my mum was very creative in Garding and ran a small gardening business with my Brother, but his creative streak came into its own with food, and moved on to working in the food industray, and I love interior design and did art at school,as did my Daughter, Recently my brother tried his hand at writing Childrens books too, so we are all creative in our own ways.
