room rendering

Asked by: staceypa

Hi everyone

Is anyone else having problems with the 3D room rendering as each time my rooms are rendered the wallpaper, paint colours, tiles or wood flooring all end up looking a plain dark grey? It is becoming very annoying as the rooms end up looking nothing like how I first designed them

I've been experiencing the same problem. It seems like there is too much light entering the room, hence the washed out colours. For some of my rooms I went as far as not including any windows and doors just to get the colours right. I must admit, I still prefer the traditional way, you know, Colour pencils/ markers & paper.

Yes, as far as I know we all have the same problem. Even woods are going grey (black) those days... That's why I'm doing all-white rooms with no woods and wallpapers :P

Oh yes, we all are having fun with the creative rendering department. Jessica, I created Hollywood swinging with exactly that---no windows and all dark interior, and if you look at it now it almost blinds you. And in Mid East Bridal Chamber the rendering department took artistic license and changed mushroom (ie light beige) moroccan pouffes and turned them into deep rust pouffes---interesting, but not what I created. And even though I go in and edit and get things back to "normal" they usually just rerender them as awful. They have totally destroyed my Orient Express with too much light and my Orient Exoress 2 is so dark you cant see in it. Go figure? Well ok, I have ranted, feel better. Good luck and cheers! Sylvia

thanks guys, i'm glad its not just me thought maybe i was going mad! hope they will sort it out as it's very annoying when you spend a long time putting the design together only for it to look totally different a couple of hours later!

We do seem like a bunch of moaners, dont we just...

Please do forgive me for sounding a little boring but I'm thinking about the technical side of developing a site of this calibre. I still have not seen anything like it where you could actually take a piece of furniture that really does exist and incorporate it into a room, to scale and it automatically renders it to scale and adjusts the proportions accordingly. If anyone has come across a site that delivers all of that, please do let me know. However, there is vectorworks who is apparently the best in the world but unfortunatly you cannot use actual pieces of furniture or accessories but whats on the system (basically to give you the idea of what the finished scheme would look like.) In my opinion, I prefer viewing the actual items I would like to purchase before purchasing it and for that reason alone I prefer the mydeco software. I do agree with the industry experts, It's one of a kind!

    Just verbalising my thoughts

As far as the irritating rendering issues are concerned, I'm pretty sure they'll sort it out sooner rather than later :-D

I definately intend using mydeco on real projects especially now that you can upload your floor plans.

    So just hang in there!!!
