Adobe InDesign

Asked by: sophisticutt

Hi guys :0)
Does anyone know where i can get a good deal on 'Adobe InDesign'?
The download costs extra and if I'm going to wait for shipping, I thought I might as well ask/shop around first.
Thanks x

...it's a computer programme, similar to 'Adobe Photoshop' and can be bought as a download or box-set, similar to 'Norton' and things like that.
I'm no expert either - that's why I don't want to rush and pay full-whack... and then someone says, "...you could've gone to such-an-such/you could've done so-and-so..." (lol)

    Thanks, Rachel :0)
I went straight to Adobe's website - they have the 30day-trial; but I know for a fact that I'll need longer! ;0)

I just wondered whether any outlets had a better price - I need to find the 'TK Maxx' of computer software!!

    Hey.

    Which course are you studying?

Do you need InDesign for a specific reason, or is it a programme you must use on your course? Because if it say just for putting together a1 boards of your work/text and such, it can be done just as easily on photoshop, except it won't be vector based ( i think InDesign is vector)

Good luck with your search...is everybody else in your class using purchased copies of InDesign?

    Hi, Tibsy :0)
It's not for my course, but now you mention it, I think it'd be a good idea for me to approach the graphic design students at uni.
It's definitely InDesign that I need... If push comes to shove; it'll be my christmas present to myself :0)

hey am not sure if you was asking me or sophisticutt but i think there is some confusion.. adobes softwear in design would be nice but i want the full suit really with phtoshop, illustrator, dreamweaver, flash and many more.
i personaly have used and am intrested in these for making a1/a2/a3 boards, drawing and basic website design..
vector? thats progaming right? personally i am more intresed in the design side not the more technical stuff but the in design package can be used for that i think, im not so sure i have not used in design program much.
and yer i was at uni and had access to computers which had this package (a educational vertion i think) but seen as i finished in july i no longer can use the softwear but would like to, just to improve my porfolio and improve my skills to get a job in the design industry where they use such programs heavly.

    Hey.

No, when I said Vector I meant the way the programme works. I'm sure InDesign (and Illustrator) are both vector based. What that means is if you do any work on those two programmes, when you print it, it will ALWAYS be exactly how you see it on the screen in terms of lines - sharp. If you enlarge/decrease the size of your work then it always stays sharp..its abit like AutoCAD in that way.

I don't mean to take this thread sideways, but Creo, at New Designers, were there many interior designers showing their work for room designs (be it residential, commercial or whatever), or did you find it was more product based?

ar ok thanks i didnt know that about printing i know in photoshop you many setting to make sure your print come out better quality, like rgb, cmyk resolution and bit ect and yer i know basic autocad so know what you mean.
lol no problem yes there was a room full of interior design couses and students, mainly commerical and more boarding on achitectural stuff, but yes the product and furniture was at the front and interior design room was based at the very back, although many people did make it back that far, and im sure one of the interior design stands one best in show for the stall design.
