John Lewis Competition

Asked by: _fairygirl_

In the John Lewis Christmas competition, there are presents and trees in the example picture. Since the presents are a mydeco product and the trees are not from John Lewis, can we assume that such items are allowed in our rooms for the competition? I'd like to know it's okay before naming my room, in case it's wrong. Thanks, Elle xx

I was wondering the same thing, it does seem strange that there are no john lewis christmas trees, the christmas range does seem a bit limited. I've used a debenhams tree in my room hopefuly if will be ok :?

    Hello there,

We are aware that there isn't a John Lewis christmas tree in the christmas tree section, but there is one already in the room when you start to build from the 'christmas tree competition' start up box when you open 3D Room Planner.

Obviously if you are used to making rooms you may have started from scratch without the tree in the room, in this case it does not matter if you use a different brand of christmas tree. The same goes for presents.

Sorry it has become confusing, hope that clears things up!

Good answer, thanks. Applies to cars, boats and tropical vacations too, right? I mean that's what I want for Christmas and John Lewis doesn't have them, can I put a Cooper Mini and a Yacht under my tree? LOL Just kidding----but what about fireplaces, I noticed them in the sample room too. Thanks, Sylvia PS I know I am not ellegible to participate, but of course am designing a room nonetheless. lol

Good for you Sylvia. I always hate when an international site has limitations on country entries. Even if they had different competitions for each country by the relevant store. Also just to continue what Cleberry said about the Christmas tree, which could also apply to the other furniture used in the sample room. When you go into the 3D planner, even if you have an existing room for the comp, click on the 'get started' button, to view the sample room, right click the item you want and click 'copy item', then either start your new room or open your existing one and right click a clear space in your room and click 'paste item'. Voila! It's in your room too. Thanks for all your answers, i hope this helps. Elle xx

Well everyone can enter from any country even though the vouchers are for a British store. You could just sell the vouchers on ebay or something... or maybe use them online and get the items delivered to you!
Thanks for participating everyone, we do appreciate it, and hope you all win something!

Oh yes, you are right Sylvia the fireplace is not from John Lewis either!

I guess it counts as walls/floor/windows/doors; part of the room that was already in existence before decoration as it usually is in real life.

    Merry decorating! xx

Clare would you double check on the "anyone can enter" please. The terms and conditions say UK residents only and don't want to violate the rules. But if indeed I can enter and win, then I would gladly sell the voucher at a discount to another profile member at mydeco who wants it. Probably cheaper than trying to pay for shipping to the US. Thank you, Sylvia

Hey Paradise, please read the answers above this one and the competition rules again---it is a JOHN LEWIS competition and he is putting up the money and he wants his furniture and things used. Except as noted---things already found in a room when you start to decorate---wall and floor coverings, windows, ceiling, plants outside---thats all up to you. Interior is to be his products except if>>> you have already used another Christmas tree. Sorry my joking around caused confusion. Use John Lewis Products! Thanks!

Cleberry is on staff at mydeco, but I believe she and most other customer service/office staff are off for the weekend. I would wait until you get more answers on the decorations as you are correct, a bit limited. Oh and there is a great deal (2000 items) of other furniture and blinds and other things, if you type in the words John Lewis and hit search under the Furnish tab in 3-D room planner. I personally am going on the assumption that any product John Lewis has made 3-D room usable is ok to use for the competition. In the selection we were offered there are several products no longer available for purchase, and that is what made me decide to search under JOHN LEWIS under Furnish tab. Good luck all! Sylvia

    Hello there,

Sorry for any confusion caused. The idea is to use all or mostly John Lewis products to decorate and furnish your room. I say mostly because we understand there are currently not any John Lewis trees/fireplaces/presents but we are working to change this. As Sylvia said, there are indeed many John Lewis curtains and blinds, just search with the brand name.

Hope this helps, and please tell me if you need any other specific question related to this competition answered.

    Kindest regards,
    Clare
