About Alexandra Champalimaud

Alexandra Champalimaud is recognized as one of the world’s leading hotel designers. The past 30 years, she has developed a portfolio which includes the offices of a Head of State, residences for top business executives and starter homes for friends, she is best known for her leadership in hotel design.

Alexandra Champalimaud was born and raised in Portugal. Educated in England and Switzerland, Alexandra completed her design training at the Espirito Santo Foundation in Lisbon, one of the last remaining colleges and workshops teaching the traditional arts, crafts and techniques of historic preservation and restoration.

Grounded in a classical education, she has gained experience in successful design projects throughout North America, Europe, and South America. Alexandra’s designs range from elegant modern to chic traditional, always with an individual sense of time and place.
