We had the bright idea of producing children's floor lamps to compliment the new headboards. We found a wonderful lighting manufacturer and started discussions on the type of lamp we want to produce. The conversation was beset with alternatives, decisions and prices but finally we agreed to send our fabric sample to make sure it would stick and glue in the right places. All so far so good. And a few days later we were told that the fabric met the required stickability. So more calls and more discussion but seemingly not to the right people. We have now spoken to the right person but the fabric has gone walk about. And we learn that children's floor lamps come with a complete set of regulations all of their own which cannot be met by our lovely lighting manufacturer. We don't know whether to be relieved or not. We were on the point of working on the fabric design so that is one problem over and keeping up with Trades and Standards is another problem over. Now the only problem is finding lights in the market place which are child friendly floor lamps with all potential hazards firmly hidden in the right wattage and the other problem is that they will not be bespoke by Bo & Jangles as we dreamt. Perhaps that dream is for another day.
