7.00 Wake and fall asleep again.
8.30 Wander around the garden with mug of coffee, dressing gown belted and plants tended.
9.30 Wax hair, load car with Birthday Boy instructions and set forth.
10.00 Arrive Art Exhibition house to complete in one hour: in my dreams.
10.30 Meet Sue Allsopp, from Pure Equator Design Consultants, at the Exhibition. Conversation overflowing with ideas. Talk all about the Princess and The Castle and The Spaceman and The World and Bubble Babies is forgotten.
11.00 Birthday Boy says the glass shelf he is fitting is not fitting and I am so engrossed in conversation with Sue that I seemingly nod and the shelf is fitted in the wrong place.
12.00 Sue helps me tackle the Gold Fabric Embroidered Wall. Frame glued in place, by me, yesterday.
12.03 The frame falls apart.
12.30 Diane and her friend Steve arrives and Sue leaves.
13.00 Temper is withheld slightly. Visit the Handicentre for the millionth time. Parking the car is the trial. Handicentre believe I am building a tower block based on the number of screws, no nails, paint and rawl plugs purchased in recent days.
13.20 Birthday Boy and Steve very active in my absence. Frame is down, in sections, and screws and rawl plugs have been added for security.
13.21 Notice paint is flaking from around the frame and I have no clue of the colour match.
13.30 Back at Handicentre and choose Apple White match pot.
13.45 Paint and pray.
14.00 Blow the paint and start fitting the fabric to the frame. Little sharp implement to help me on my way.
15.00 Fabric teased into place with blister building. Fabric looking gold, textured and fabulous.
15.20 Diane labelled out on the exhibits with the brochure still to build. Birthday and Boy and Steve looking ridiculously please with their combined drill, fill and hang expertise.
15.30 Check the house for lights out and evidence of Lottie's presence. Lottie is Diane's cute, cute, new, kissing, licking puppy who is so small that introductions to Bo have been put on hold for a brave day.
16.00 Home coaxing terrible cheap, gold frames with emulsion, gold leaf and gilt paint to become elegant surrounds fit for water colour art and Monday hanging.
17.00 Realise that another apartment should have had attention today, pilates class has carried on without me and a day is too short, never mind life.
21.53 Blogging, steak and garden salad behind me, and tomorrow............well tomorrow has to be the forgotten apartment with the million other forgotten details. Boredom is not one of my problems.
