So ridiculously pleased that my new friend Kitty has made a positive comment I return to the blog refreshed. Refreshment has been long and varied this weekend. Birthday boy, who is definitely more grown man than a boy, deserved a serious celebration so on Friday we set off for the serious heaven of Blakeney, Norfolk with Mr Bo Jangles in tow. On route we rescued London son and his Yorkshire girlfriend from a little station with plenty of signs but no obvious entrance. At this point we had to re jig the luggage and Mr Bo who had slobbered and rained on all his bedding. Feeling slightly guilty about the worried, sodden Mr Bo we lunched to excess with Nottingham son and friend at the Hoste Arms and the ever expanding party eventually landed in Blakeney. It is amazing how inventive you can be in one hotel bathroom. Mr Bo's bedding was washed in many tiny bottles of shampoo and hung to dry on the shower rail and then somehow London son's scarf and sweater joined the wash room as Mr Bo had seemingly been overwhelmed by meeting two brothers on the same day at the same time and nature had taken its course. After two long, memorable dinners, one boat trip to visit the basking seals with a disturbed and sometimes barking Mr Bo, three trips to the sauna, two steamrooms, two swims, many walks and an epic beach picnic courtesy of two sons, we are back to just Birthday Boy and Mr Bo and home. Mr Bo now lies at my feet dreaming of his leaps from the sand dunes to the edge of the picnic, careering around the pine forests chased by Nottingham son, sausages rescued from the breakfast table and smells everywhere. But Mr Bo probably feels like me; ridiculously pleased to have had so many friends appreciating his every move.
