Getting so excited, even the Birthday Boy, who telephoned me during the day, said my voice sounded perky. Lindsay suffered my gibberish, lack of sentences and sense. And tonight, I could not believe it, but I found that Diane had a birthday, all day, which I have not marked. 

So now we have a Birthday Girl, and a wonderful friend, who I have neglected. So tomorrow I really have to get my act together. The celebration will have to extend to forty eight hours rather than the ordinary twenty four and somehow I will have to make the forgotten moments count for a little longer. 

The reason for the frantic day was the telephone ringing constantly, the fax machine trying to out do the telephone, the mobile burbling and then someone I called this afternoon asked if I had not read their text sent at 9am and no, we did not forget the emails, just the text messages. Personally I think we have too many means of communication which leads to too little time to think of anything apart from servicing the call of technology.

But we did think about the new downloads from the gorgeous Simon Mitchell, who again came in flying with designs, only requested twenty four hours previously. The designs are wonderful, approved and sent, with much discussion about the colour for the frame, to our wonderful manufacturer.

Our manufacturer, Italian and working in the UK, is patient and a perfectionist. Two samples arrived last week. One for us to keep and one to sign off and send back. All so far so good but then I changed the design from landscape to square and everything kicked off again and hence the twenty four hour design change.

The designs are incredible, the manufacturing high tech process has been honed to perfection and the Bubble Babies, The Princess and The Castle and The Spaceman and The World will reach us next Wednesday.

What are we manufacturing? A first for the UK market. We are producing a laminated high tech art form, which will satisfy the neglected Headboard market, and will have the impact and presence to sit all by itself as a very special piece of wall art.

Cornering, this market (a very 'in' joke as achieving corners has been a major challenge) is not so much looking and comparing  with the competition, as to date we cannot find another similar presentation of art; the challenge is bringing everyone's attention to the the sleek beauty of the product and the never ending design and colour choice that we can offer which is only limited by the imagination.

So today my mind was whirring at the thought of the multitude of ways we could approach, adapt and extend the product but really I should have concentrated on Diane getting older before my very eyes and I missed the event. This is the true way to stay forever young.
