Jane Churchill epitomises all things English, her classic-with-a-twist interiors have charmed and inspired for the past three decades. She started her career in her teens working for her Great Aunt, Nancy Lancaster, was a founder of the quintessentially English design and fabric company Colefax & Fowler “it’s hopeless to resist the creative urge because we have so many designers in the family” she says “it must be in the genes.”
Internationally famous for her English style and classically elegant interiors, projects Jane has completed range from residential properties, hotels, London town houses, listed country houses, executive offices, a box at Ascot and even the interior of a Rolls Royce. Jane has a vast portfolio of overseas projects including properties in the USA, Europe, Australia, the Caribbean and Russia.
In conjunction with Chesney’s, a leading fireplace specialist, Jane has also designed a range of fireplaces. The range consists of four designs: The Coral, The Ebury, The Eaton and The Ormonde. Each fireplace was inspired by a unique visual experience, combining the traditional elements of form with an original and beautiful design.

- Trends come and go but remember the most successful colour schemes are timeless and will look as good in the future as they do now.
- Carefully choose furniture and accessories and make sure they suit the room.
- Furniture layout is important before you do an electrical plan.
- Never try to save money by buying cheap sofas or beds – it will come back to haunt you.
- Do not use the floor as a dumping ground for your clobber!
- An eclectic mix is more homely than everything matching.
- Lighting is key so pay particular attention to getting it right.
