  • Fairtrade 84 members

The FAIRTRADE Mark is an independent consumer label which appears on products as an independent guarantee that disadvantaged producers in the developing world are getting a better deal. For a product to display the FAIRTRADE Mark it must meet international Fairtrade standards. These standards are set by the international certification body Fairtrade Labelling Organisations International (FLO). Producer organisations that supply Fairtrade products are inspected and certified by FLO. They receive a minimum price that covers the cost of sustainable production and an extra premium that is invested in social or economic development projects.

There are so many fabulous crafts in danger of becoming extinct. Get yourself off to all your local country fairs, craft exhibitions, college exhibitions etc this summer. My local college has fabulous creative skills courses, including soft furnishings, passementerie, quilting, carpentry, blacksmithing etc. It's brilliant to see.Keep our crafts alive and support them as much as you can or we may lose them. You'll be amazed at the talent and skill in these places and you will probably end up buying something you will not find anywhere else. I know you can get good bargains on the high street but it is nice to treat yourself to something unique.
