  • EcoCentric and the search for eco fabulous homewar

The idea to set up Ecocentric was sparked after designing and curating an exhibition on recycled products and materials for WRAP - the Waste and recycle action program. . After much searching we realised that there was nowhere we could source many of the incredible designer sustainable and recycled products that were available. We now stock over 300 different eco products all beautiful and with good green credentials. Our products are either low energy, from a sustainable or ethical source or made from recycled materials - so there are plenty to choose from. Bamboo towels are a great example of a good eco product. • The Islington Green Living Centre - Oliver Heath

The Green Living Centre was designed in conjunction with KCA London as a means for Islington Council to encourage the boroughs residents and businesses to adopt more environmentally friendly ways of living and operating. The first of its kind in the UK, it is located on Islington’s Upper Street, London . The centre has 3 main sections: the first being an exhibition displaying the basic principles of Islington’s sustainability principles where you can learn the basics of energy conservation, eco transport, materials, bio diversity and recycling. The second aspect is to encourage visitors to sit and study at a series of long research tables where the can also interact with the energy officers who occupy the 3rd section. In the adjoining office space are the building control, planners and eco experts to help residents find out about sustainability, available grants and what they can really do to make a difference. All the materials and lightings have been more »
