As a budding interior designer/ stylist based in New York, I love to solve design dilemmas in my spare time.
Current project: transforming my new cozy apartment into a comfy, pet-friendly, stylish home.
Take a look at my 3-D Rooms. Some of the rooms have been converted (or are being converted) to real-life projects!

Stage 2

The trips to Target and IKEA were very fruitful...got a great indoor/ outdoor rug for the bedroom (you can see pics in my Room photos.)  Great for easy accident clean-up, and they are actually quite comfortable.  The rug itself is called Oriental Dreams- I believe it is licensed by Target, so I'm not sure of the availability.

IKEA had this great, cheap starter sofa called the SOLSTA sofa bed.  (also can view pic in my Rooms.)  It's great for the price, comfortable if you like a firmer sofa, and the cushions fold out into a small bed!  My only complaint is that the color looked dark grey online and in the store, but when I took it out of the box, it appeared more drab navy.  So, I've added a slipcover to the old apartment list!!

What do you think?

It's really difficult working out the colour of things online - do they have a fabric swatch service in the states?

I have 2 elderly cats and so often the house gets organised around them... the main thing is a dark, dark navy blue bedspread which doesn't show up the cat hair from them napping! (thank goodness it is machine washable)

I think a lot of places here do have fabric swatch services...thanks for the tip!
