Project Lennon; lintels going inGod bless the Nat West, who are financing the refurb of 5 grotty flats, it's a start in this credit crunch nightmare! A week in (6wks to finish) Project Lennon is now uninhabitable, back to brick, no quick tickle up with a coat of paint for these rentals. Yes, the rental market is brilliant says everyone, but there is a massive amount of competition; my agents had 30 rentals to shift pre-Xmas, they now have 140!!! So you have to be one step ahead of the competition.....
1 - view back from main living room to hallway; doorway being moved to the left so the door opens against the wall, this will give more room for a folddown bed on the right hand side as it is a studio flat. Concrete lintel in here.
2 - view from inside kitchen. Door moved to allow run of 600mm units to meet the wall to the right hand side of the new doorway; previously the kitchen was useless! Timber lintel about to be removed & replaced with concrete, take out all bricks to lhs and stud wall to rhs.
