I've asked some of my friends to give me some ideas on how to fit our stuff into the new house living room. I did a rough plan myself but wasn't able to fully represent the room, so I thought I'd have a go at explaining it for clarity's sake. Still, it's been interesting to see what ideas have come up when people haven't known all the facts and it's led us in a new direction which I've tried to represent on the second attempt at new house living room.
So, the room: in its entirety is 13ft by 18ft, but we lose some space because the end opposite the patio doors is a staircase. On the room plans I've represented this with a wall and a door that opens out of the room. Under the stairs is open and we plan to put in some cube-based units that will make use of the sloping space and create an area for the PC. Because the house comes with my job so too does some of the furniture, namely the 3-piece suite and the dresser unit. We have several different gaming consoles and other TV related technology, plus all the games, that we've now got housed in a brilliant TV unit, so that's a keeper. And because the house is small and only has one other room downstairs and very narrow hallways, there's nowhere else to have the piano. We're also avid readers and I have loads of books for my job so we need all the bookshelf space we can get. You see our problem!!
I think I'm happy with the second layout, but if any of you can come up with something better then please let me know. By the way, all the TV aerial sockets are in the corner where I've currently placed the TV.
