so... we now just have a shell for a house! walking around on the joists as the floor boards have been taken out it was a case of not falling through into the foundations. the bathroom floor upstairs has totally gone so standing on the landing looking into the bathroom you can see the shower room downstairs - pretty amaxing stuff and extraordinary to see a house stripped back to its bare bones.
once i've worked out how to upload photos you can see what i mean!
the scafolding is up and the roof is coming off as i write. i'm praying for a dry week as our little house could really do with staying dry after the years of damp it's suffered. Once the roof is off the new frame will be put up and brand new (light weight!) tiles will be put on. then the internal wall between the kitchen and dining room will be knocked down to give us our family kitchen/diner we've always wanted!
we have buiding control (from the council) making regular visits to make sure RSJ caculations are being done correctly.
Did you know, you don't need planning permission to put in sky light windows into lofts? good tip i thought!
over and out for the time being. better get my hard hat on and get to the house!
