British fifties interiors

Terence Conran started his career as a designer and owner of a furniture factory in the fifties. These interiors are his and photographed in 1954 for an edition of House & Garden. His lay-outs are both linear and frivolous. We can imagine that his usage of colours, forms, graphics and materials was progressive for its time. Sir Conran's goal was to deliver design with a good quality price ratio. Look at the text of his add from 1954. All photo's are from the book 'Terence Conran's Inspiration'.   how great is this style! never realised i like the 50's so much, thanks. swear i should have been in my twenties in the fifties, i just suit it more and prefer the colours, shapes, everything!
