I specialise in giving homes a fresh, designer look, at affordable prices. it's all about sourcing, getting the balance right & experience of what works and what doesn't.     I am now officially Interiors Editor for my local magazine and my first issue is out now!  Very exciting.  It's only a small circulation, but my direct and local market, so hopefully might bring in extra customers too.  Having worked in media for many years previous to my eventual and longed for switch to interior design, I'm now combining both skills, which has infused me with new energy!  I've also written features for a couple of internet sites and had a full page feature in a local glossy - all great pr!  Mydeco blogging could be the start of something big...x

  • I'm so excited!

    Finally the end of a 3 year dream is in sight for me!  Three years ago my husband & I saw a house we fell in love with - a crumbling old reck but a garden 20 times the size of our then garden.  It's been a roller coaster ride in finally getting it, involving off, on, off, wait a minute, off, on with the sale  Buying, renovating and selling another house in the meantime, renting, stay with various friends, (plus kids and pets), and finally last year we managed to buy it.  Another long journey then to get planning permission, helpful architects and find decent builders before starting work in March.  And now the main messy stuff is finally finished and it's down to the bit I've dreamed of for so long - the decorating and styling!  As a stylist, I have so many ideas in my head, it's hard to narrow it down to one house worth, but I think it's going to look stunning!  And all for half the cost quoted by architects/builders/designers at the beginning!  How?   • one to watch for non students

    Having been excited about being entered for the "one to watch" competition, I only recently got around to reading the small print and realised that, as I am already in business and not a full time student, I'm not legible for the winning prize..Oh.  However, my inital disappointment was erased by the mydeco team, who inform me that there will still be a winner for the category of "non-student designer" - hurray!  No prizes, but still plenty of exposure & a reason to keep voting!  I know this probably applies to quite a few others in the running, so just to let all you non students know, there is still reason to keep going!   • bank holiday shopping

    Its May bank holiday & just about every high street store have a sale on, many just for this weekend.  So grab a few bargains and then spruce up your home ready for summer!  A few bright cushions, new bedlinen & some indoor plants/flowers.
