ATCT-D82422 : Stone Topped Stool with Cabriole Legs
| Shanxi, circa 1900 Originally used as a stool, this would today make a lovely coffee table. It has cabriole legs that were often seen particularly on kang tables later on in China , while 'giants arm' braces support the waisted table top. The top itself is inlaid with stone. The apron on each side of the table includes some beautiful carved relief, while the dark lacquer has survived the test of time fairly intact. Please note that this piece is not currently in stock but can be included on our next shipment of antiques for delivery estimated in March 2009. A deposit is required if you wish to reserve it. |
