Beijing, circa 1900 Our camphor chests would have been used in Chinese homes to store blankets, clothes and other items. Camphor was commonly used to make trunks and chests from early on in China due to its attractive wood grain and because its aroma acts as a natural insect repellent. Each chest has been restored and refinished and they are still perfect today for bedroom storage or as a coffee table. Please note that this piece is not currently in stock but will arrive with our next shipment of antiques for delivery estimated December 2008. A deposit is required if you wish to reserve it. |
