Design Museum Globe Clock

Globe Clock

Rating | Not rated
£115
Modelled on the Swiss Railway Station Clock which has been displayed in every Swiss railway station since the 1940s, the new Globe Clock is new for Spring 2007. The original clock was designed in 1944 by a Swiss Federal Railways employee Hans Hilfiker (1901-1993). He designed the face to be easily readable from a distance, with a red second hand to enable passengers to judge train times precisely. Exceptionally tactile, the Globe Clock is a stainless steel case with convex mineral crystal seamlessly shaped into a 6cm silicon dome.
