Wedgwood fine bone china is very strong and resilient. It benefits from being used, so take every opportunity to enjoy it. You can wash your Laurel tableware by hand or in a dishwasher, warm it gently in the oven to 100°C, and put it in the freezer. Just take care when washing, stacking or taking out your tableware not to scrape or knock one piece against another, and avoid sudden changes in temperature.. The finest of meals deserves exquisite tableware…and vice versa. When you own such beautiful tableware, your cooking is inspired, and entertaining friends becomes a more frequent pleasure.. Laurel is undoubtedly exquisite and distinctive. Although taupe and black is very much a 21st-century combination, this modern palette is tempered by the classical border motifs and gold embellishment, resulting in a truly timeless design.. The border frieze and cartouches are traditional Wedgwood motifs, first appearing together in the 1920s. However, their individual pedigrees date back to the neo-classical designs of Josiah Wedgwood I (1730-95) and his sometime collaborator, the architect Robert Adam (1728-92).. Gold-lined totally black accent plates are a new departure for Wedgwood. The designers believe they can add drama to Laurel and to many other Wedgwood tableware patterns, too..
