Artasia Reclaimed Teak Table

Before the advent of sandpaper in Indonesia, wood was finished by scooping the surface with a tool like a flat ice pick. It took great skill to achieve a flat surface like this and the reclaimed wood that comprises the top of this table exhibits just that. The wood is solid old jungle teak with a grain very different to plantation varieties. Jungle teak is no longer available in the world making old wood like this extremely covetable. This is a unique item made by an Indonesian carpenter friend of mine to a very high standard.
